Blues Extend Win Streak to Six Games With Another Shutout Win

The Blues defeated the Wild 2-0 in a Western Conference battle on Thursday Night as they have extended their win streak to six games. The Blues have now jumped to fifth place in the Western Conference with 48 points as the Wild sit at seventh place.

It was an historic night for the Blues as goaltender Brian Elliot has recorded his third straight shutout during the Blues' six game win streak. This was the first time the Blues recorded three straight road shutouts since the 1968-1969 season and it was the first time since 1988 that the Blues have recorded three straight regulation shutouts.

Roman Polak scored the first goal of the game for the Blues with 10:37 into the first period. That goal by Polak was the first goal from him in 121 games. The Blues gathered one more goal, 9:30 into the third period with a Andy McDonald goal, his fifth of the season.

The Blues improve to 23-14-2 on the season, meanwhile the Wild drop to 22-16-2.

The Blues next game is tomorrow night against the Blue Jackets in Columbus as Columbus sits at 11th place in the Western Conference, but are only three points behind the eighth seeded Red Wings.

The Wild go on to play Columbus on Saturday Night in Minnesota at 7 CT.
