Opening Day in St. Louis

Opening Day in St. Louis is like a National Holiday as the beloved St. Louis Cardinals begin another season with high expectations in the best baseball city in America. The Cardinals will begin their home opener with an NL Central battle with the Cincinnati Reds, which these two teams are expected to be in the NL Central race all throughout the season.

One Cardinal icon who will be missed during the Opening Day festivities will be Stan Musial, the greatest Cardinal ever as he passed away back on January 19th. The Cardinals will be wearing Stan Musial batches on their jerseys all season long with the number 6 and Musial's signature. Stan Musial Night will be held on April 12th. Stan The Man will most certainly be missed during the Opening Day Ceremony.

Jaime Garcia takes the mound for the Cardinals today as he faces off against Mat Latos, who starts for the Reds. Cardinals vs Reds at 3:15 CT, you can watch the game on FSN Midwest or listen to KMOX 1120.
